The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is a country located in Central Africa. It is the second-largest country in Africa by land area and has a diverse population with over 80 million people. The DRC is known for its rich natural resources, including minerals like copper, cobalt, and diamonds.

The DRC is home to a wide range of ethnic groups and languages, with Lingala, Swahili, Tshiluba and Kikongo being some of the most widely spoken languages with French as the official language. Kinshasa is the capital city, located on the Congo River, and is one of the largest urban areas in Africa.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo  has an estimated population of 101.8 million comprising mostly of younger population (less than 25 years) which makes up about 65.8% of the population, those in the age bracket of 25-64 years makes up about 31.7% of the population and above 65 years age group makes up about 2.5% of the population. It has over 200 African ethnic groups of which the majority are Bantu.

The people of the DRC are known for their resilience and strong sense of community. The country has immense natural beauty, including stunning wildlife and landscapes, such as Virunga National Park, which is home to mountain gorillas.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo has abundant natural resources (Copper, Cobalt, Gold, Diamonds, Coltan, Zinc, Tin, Tungsten etc), which are largely untapped as well as huge arable land. The country is  widely considered to be the richest country in the world regarding natural resources. DRC is Africa’s largest copper producer and the world’s largest cobalt producer. Cobalt and copper account for over 80% of the country’s exports.  

The Democratic Republic of the Congo has initiated reforms aimed at strengthening governance in the management of natural resources and improving the business climate. Normalization of the political situation in the country and a new determination to reform and fight corruption is instilling a climate of confidence.

Visit D.R.Congo

DRC is the only place where you can see Okapis, mountain gorillas, bonobos. The parcs are definitely worth the visit, they are beautiful, the guides are extremely friendly & knowledgeable. You will walk around the various living areas of the monkeys, see their sleeping quarters, nursery, and see many others animals in their habitat.
